Summer Vacation

Our family went on an exciting journey through the south to visit all of Sara's family. First we went to Tennessee to pick up Sara's parents (now PaPaw and Gram). Then we all traveled together to Corinth, Mississippi. Dan and Keith went on from there to visit Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS while the rest of us stayed behind. This is Dan in the rare books collection at the RTS library.

Peter, Sara and Linda stayed in Corinth to visit with family. Peter saw his Great Grandparents for the first time, as well as Great Aunts and Uncles and second cousins. It was very hot in Mississippi and Peter really enjoyed swimming in Granny Betty's pool.

This is Peter with Keith's mother (MaMaw). They had a lot of fun together!

Dan and Keith came back to Corinth after two days in Jackson. We all went out to eat at the Catfish Hotel with the Oaks family. In the picture is Linda's parents, her brother and his wife, her nephew and his family and Linda, Sara, Dan and Peter. We are by the Tennessee River which was in front of the restaurant. We had a great time visiting together.

On the trip back to Tennessee we stopped at the Hermitage near Nashville, which was the home of Andrew Jackson. We enjoyed the tour through the house and garden. Peter just took a nap.

At Keith and Linda's house the next day, Peter had quite the hairdo at breakfast! We enjoyed hiking at Bays Mountain park in the afternoon. In the evening, Mom and Dad went on a date while Peter played in his swimming pool with PaPaw and Gram.

More fun at PaPaw and Gram's house (that's a mixing bowl on Peter's head).

Happy 4th of July! Today we went hiking at Laurel Creek Falls and had a wonderful time. The rhododendrons were in bloom and were beautiful. Peter loved riding in his backpack and wading in the creek. Tomorrow we are going back home. What a great vacation! (Don't forget to check out the new video clip).
